We are excited to share the news that the COVID vaccine has been approved for ages 5-11!
As stated below, we believe the vaccine to be safe for this age group and encourage you to vaccinate your family. Our original post below shares resources about the vaccine’s safety.
We are not administering the vaccine at our office, but there are several locations you can find it for this age group.
Some distributors are still waiting on their vaccines for ages 5-11 to arrive, so check for age appropriate availability before you go.

Dear CMG Families,
We are excited to see news that the COVID vaccine is in final stages to be approved for children ages 5 and up. While we wait, we would like to offer some information to help you prepare for vaccinating your children:
Not completely. While the FDA has approved for ages 5-11 as of October 26, 2021, the CDC must also review and approve the vaccine before it can be used. They are slated to discuss this issue tomorrow, November 2nd.
We believe the vaccine to be safe and recommend it for all children 5 and up once approved. If you would like more information on vaccine safety, please visit these resources from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the CDC. This is the information we have used to form our recommendation that all children 5 and up should receive the vaccine.
Currently, we do not plan to vaccinate CMG patients during office hours, so no appointments are available.
We would like to have Covid vaccine clinics in our parking lot, like our flu shot clinics. However, this is a bit easier said than done. Without going into the nuances of medical supply chains, there are resources needed that our small office simply doesn’t have. We’re discussing options with some potential partners who have the vaccine and can help us administer it to our patients. Stay tuned for more.
Once approved, we expect the vaccine will be widely (and immediately) available through the following providers
We hope this is helpful. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us. We will update this page with community resources for receiving the vaccine as soon as they are available.
