Dear CMG Families,

We hope all of our moms had a lovely Mother’s Day and feel loved and appreciated.  You deserve it!

We’re writing to officially announce that Dr. Lorri Powell is joining CMG as a full-time provider.

Many of you know that Dr. Powell has been helping us since our reopening in February. She has cared for our CMG patients in addition to keeping her full-time position at another clinic in town.  The feedback we’ve received from you has been very positive.

Her presence at CMG has not been by coincidence. She offered her time and wanted to help, in part because of her personal connection with Dr. Dodson.

Dr. Powell actually trained as a resident under Dr. Dodson at Dell Children’s Medical Center.  They reconnected many years later when their children played together on a soccer team coached by Dr. Powell’s husband.

Tragically, in early January, Dr. Dodson was in discussions with Dr. Powell about joining CMG later this year. They were both looking forward to working together again.

This change is so very hard and we appreciate your understanding.  We’ve lost someone who cannot be replaced, and we miss her every day.  But we know she would want us to keep moving, and she would certainly want to know that her patients are in good hands.

We feel blessed to have found Dr. Powell, who we believe is an excellent fit for our family and yours. She has worked long hours during a very challenging time and handled it all with grace and kindness. We’re excited for you to meet her, and she looks forward to meeting and caring for your children.
